Back in Lynchburg

It has been a couple of days.  I feel bad that I left this blog on a little bit of a negative note in this time.  I don't mean to seem sad or ungrateful; I'm just reflective and trying to understand how these pieces of "life" fit together.  Maybe they don't.  And maybe that is the point.

Anyway, we made it back to Lynchburg on Monday.  Usually, I dread returning from a trip because the house is always left in shambles as we attempt to get out of town fast.  And there is always tons of laundry to do.  This time, though, it felt so nice to walk in our front door.  I made sure it was "show ready" since we had someone coming to look while we were gone.  Chris's mom was in town picking up his sister (is her freshmen year of college seriously over already?!), so we met her for dinner.  Then Chris had more work to do for the night.

Over the weekend, we made the unsettling discovery that Eliot's foot is HUGE!  I'm sure it is just average, but he is in a size five now.  It seemed to take forever for him to go up a shoe size before.  Now I was beginning to think about how we were going to have to buy him all new shoes!  I had just bought him a new pair of Toms in five.  My parents gave him a pair of Yo Gabba Gabba Vans slip-ons for Easter, which we had to exchange for a five.  At dinner, Chris's mom passed on a pair of Timberland slip-ons, flip flops, and a pair of Crocs!  All in size five!  I'd say he is set with two pairs of "nice" shoes, two pairs of play shoes (his Chucks still fit... for now), and two pairs of beach-friendly shoes.  That was a lot to type about shoes, but whatevz.  I'm just grateful that we won't have to buy any!

Tims!
Vans!
On Tuesday, we went through our usual motions.  Work during Eliot's nap.  Chris took Eliot for a run.  Then we went to Target for a few things and groceries.  Eliot is fine in the cart for a little while, but then he finds a way to climb out.  He just wants to run everywhere and point to all of the pictures of cats on kitty litter boxes!  And we let him go explore within reason.  It sure was easier when he was younger, though.  Then I made homemade pizza for dinner!

Today has been rainy.  Also, we had two e-conferences to attend instead of the usual one.  I'm telling you:  us trying to keep Eliot entertained during e-conferences must be a hilarious sight.  The boy reserves his diapers for when we're on the phone!  It all works out, though.

And those are our simple, familiar days.  Showing tomorrow evening!  Praying for God's will, not my "plans"!
